Toy of the Week - Week 7

It’s now just 6 Weeks til Christmas, which means we are announcing our seventh Toy of the Week for you!

In the run-up to the Festive Season, Jaques will be announcing a Top Toy every week based on the best benefits for your little learners.

This week’s Toy of The Week for behavioural boosting is… our Marble Rewards Jar!

Best Behaviour

Advocated by teachers, this reward toy is a real game changer. Encouraging positive behaviour with toys and games is called positive reinforcement and it’s been proven to be very effective. Not only does this toy work on the tried and tested reward chart system (where kids are gratified through goal achievement), the jar comes with positive phrases to reinforce constructive values. This messaging will also bolster their confidence and sense of self-image.

The marbles included with this reward system feature striking patterns in bright bold colours. You could also use the marbles to play with if you wanted to! For kids who need a little bit of encouragement, this toy has it all. The bundles of benefits transcend its everyday use and set the groundwork for positive values for years to come!

Personalised Play

Our Marble Reward Jar is perfect for positive reinforcement. Children will realise that good behaviour results in reward; an ideal lesson to set them up for life. The Reward Jar is highly interactive and allows children to have autonomy over their behaviour and decisions they make. Kids will love being able to select a marble to place into the jar for displaying desirable behaviour. They will be able to see the jar filling up. For even more of an incentive, offer your children a small reward when they fill the jar, such as a family board game night or a trip to the park. Equally, if your child refuses to do a task or some other negative action, they could lose a marble, which shows them that actions have consequences. It is an easy way to encourage your kids to complete chores, be polite and follow household rules and expectations.

This positive behaviour method is advocated by teachers around the world, with similar ideas being utilised in the classroom, such as table points and star charts as well as many teachers using marble reward jars in the classroom. Why not align your behaviour management at home with the classroom? Kids love routine and they will understand clearly what is expected of them.
