This week's blog is all about painting, self-expression & Picasso!

Primed to paint

In 1972 Pablo Picasso, famed Spanish painter, published his last work. In the same year, Jaques of London were at the ripe age of 177! This means that the Jaques family got to witness his painting career unfold. From when Picasso completed his first painting at the age of 9, to his last painting some 82 years later, Jaques of London got to witness it all.

To celebrate this amazing artist and year in our history, we’d like to encourage your little ones to pick up a brush and be bold. Messy play is so beneficial for your kids—the more tactile their play can be, the more they benefit.

Crafty Kids

As well as this, being creative provides a way for children to show you what’s really important to them right now—even if they don’t quite have the words to tell you. Arty activities that involve connecting shapes or making patterns can even develop maths skills. This is because such activities use the same parts of the brain for complex problem-solving, like solving mathematical problems for example!

Our Let’s Create range has been designed with this in mind. It features toys that have been specially created to encourage individuality. Creative toys, whether they’re musical or arty, give kids the ability to express themselves and to be unique through creative freedom.

Take a look at our continual creative play toys. These can be used again and again to engage in awesome arty activities!

Did you know: Picasso’s full name was 23 words long!
