Real talk
The gift that makes you unforgettable between visits
Distance doesn't matter when you've given them something they'll want to play every time you visit. The Target Garden Game sits in their garden waiting for you, a reminder that Grandma or Grandpa thinks about the fun times together.
You're not just buying a game. You're booking yourself into their summer plans, their birthday parties, and the stories they'll tell about the day you taught them how to aim.
Joe Jaques, Jaques of London

While they play
What they're learning while having fun
Looks like play. Works like a lesson.
Hand-eye coordination
Every throw sharpens the link between what they see and what their body does. By summer, their aim will surprise you.
Movement and fitness
Natural running, bending, and throwing without the screen-time guilt. They'll tire out before you do.
Colour recognition and tactics
Match colours, track scores, decide strategy. Young children spot patterns; older children play to win.
Teamwork and turn-taking
They learn to wait, to cheer, and to win together. No app can teach that.

Questions & answers
Questions grandparents ask before they order
Is this the right game for their age?
Buying for a 5th birthday? This is the one. Ages 3 and up can play at their own level: toddlers toss and laugh, older children keep score and play teams. Adults get surprisingly competitive. It's the rare game that genuinely works from 3 to 60.
How long will it take to arrive?
Order by 2pm and it ships the next business day, arriving within 2 to 3 days. Panicking about a birthday? We've got you. Every order ships with our 60-day returns promise, so if it's not right, send it back until 31 January 2027.
Will it actually last, or will it break after one summer?
Built to the standard Jaques has kept for 231 years. The mat is lightweight but durable, the discs are soft foam that survive throws, gardens, and the odd dog run. One buyer told us, 'Not the usual tat from China.' Another: 'Toys that don't break after five minutes of play.' That's the bar we hold.
Do I need to buy anything else?
No. The box includes the target mat, all the flying discs you need for multiple players, and 4 pegs to secure it. Unpack it, roll it out, and you're ready. No batteries, no assembly, no hidden costs.
How much does it cost?
The Target Garden Game - Giant Garden Game is £22.50 today (down from £41.99). Klarna is available at checkout if you prefer to spread the cost.
What's your returns policy?
30 days, full refund, no conditions. Return it for any reason and we refund in full. We've been standing behind what we make since 1795.

Our story
Making toys worth keeping since 1795.
Jaques of London was founded in 1795. We invented croquet, table tennis, and the Staunton chess set. For 230 years, we've been making things that pull children away from passive entertainment and into active, curious, hands-on play.
In 1795, Jaques of London began with a simple belief: the best moments happen when families play together. Two centuries on, we've watched grandparents teach grandchildren the same games their own parents taught them. The Target Garden Game carries that promise. It's not fancy or electronic. It's built to be memorable: to sit in a garden waiting for you, to make every visit something they look forward to, and to turn you into the grandparent they don't want to forget.
Toys and games that leave something behind: a skill, a memory, a piece of play that gets passed on.
