Real talk
The toy that actually holds their attention
You've seen the headlines about toddler focus. Dazzle proves it wrong. No screen, no sound, no flashing lights: just a wooden unicorn on wheels that gets pulled across floors, up stairs, into imaginary adventures. Real parents report 30 to 40 minutes of unbroken play.
That's time you get back. Time they build confidence and creativity at their own pace.
Joe Jaques, Jaques of London
What's in the box
What arrives
Dazzle ships gift-wrapped and ready to pull. One toy, infinite journeys.
Dazzle the Unicorn
A wooden unicorn with a pull string attached. Hand-finished from sustainable wood, she weighs enough to feel real but light enough for a 2-year-old to steer. The wheels roll silently.
- ✓ Sustainable wood construction
- ✓ Hand-finished detail
- ✓ Pull-string cord included
Built for walkers
The weight and wheel design are tuned for toddlers who are steady on their feet. Pull her across a room and she rolls smoothly. The size is right for little hands to push or pull without frustration.
- ✓ Sized for ages 2 to 4
- ✓ Smooth rolling wheels
- ✓ Lightweight but sturdy
Hand-finished touches
Every Dazzle is painted by hand. The mane, the face, the colour all carry craft. That's why each toy feels a little different, and why it holds up to years of play and passing on.
- ✓ Hand-painted eyes and mane
- ✓ No two are identical
- ✓ Built to last decades
Ships in 2-3 business days. Order by 2pm, play this weekend.

While they play
What Dazzle quietly teaches
Looks like play. Works like a lesson.
Gross motor control
Pulling builds leg strength and coordination. The act of steering teaches cause and effect: pull harder, go faster; turn the string, change direction.
Sustained attention
No beeping means no external reward. The child's own imagination drives the play. That's how focus actually builds.
Storytelling
A wooden toy is a blank canvas. Dazzle becomes a princess, a racing unicorn, a sleepy friend. Imagination has no script.
Independent play
No apps, no rules, no levels to win. Your child learns to entertain themselves, which is a skill that lasts.

Questions & answers
Questions parents ask
How old is Dazzle right for?
Dazzle works best from age 2, once your child is steady on their feet and pulling toys. She'll stay interesting through age 4, and can be passed down after that. Catherine McCulloch says it's a 'perfect gift for any babies' 1st birthday', so every child's timeline is different: watch your own child and trust your instinct.
Will she survive rough play?
Yes. Solid wood and hand-finished details mean Dazzle takes bumps and crashes. The wheels are durable. Manda Monium says it's 'worth every penny full price' because these toys last for years and get passed to younger siblings or cousins. The 60-day return promise backs that up: we wouldn't offer it if Dazzle broke easily.
When will she arrive?
Order by 2pm and Dazzle ships the next working day, arriving by the end of the week in most cases. Leigh Hemmings reported 'arrived next day, saved Christmas'. We gift-wrap every order so she's ready to give the moment she arrives. If you need her by a specific date, email us: we'll tell you if we can make it happen.
What makes this worth more than the plastic pull-along?
Weight in your hand. The wood is heavy enough to feel real but light for a toddler. Hand-finished means no two are identical. The wheels roll silently. No batteries means no dead toys in a drawer. John A says 'Not the usual tat from China'. Karen Pepper calls them 'Toys that don't break after five minutes of play'. Solid wood and craft cost more upfront, but they last 10 times longer and can be passed on. That's pennies per year of play.
How much does it cost?
The Dazzle The Unicorn Pull Along Toy is £23.99 today. Klarna is available at checkout if you prefer to spread the cost.
What's your returns policy?
30 days, full refund, no conditions. Return it for any reason and we refund in full. We've been standing behind what we make since 1795.

Our story
Making toys worth keeping since 1795.
Jaques of London was founded in 1795. We invented croquet, table tennis, and the Staunton chess set. For 230 years, we've been making things that pull children away from passive entertainment and into active, curious, hands-on play.
In 1795, Jaques started by making games for children who needed to think, not just react. Dazzle carries that idea forward. We chose sustainable wood and hand-finished detail because a toy should feel real in a child's hands, not plastic or disposable. No batteries means no distraction, just quiet time for imagination to grow. That's why Dazzle sits with toddlers for 40 minutes straight. She's made the Jaques way: built to last, meant to be passed on, and designed to teach without a screen.
Toys and games that leave something behind: a skill, a memory, a piece of play that gets passed on.
