Why Is Breakfast So Brilliant?

The most important meal of the day

The saying is true. Breakfast has been proven to be the most important meal of the day, especially for kids. In 2010, the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that 32% of pupils skip breakfast before school. This is worrying, as breakfast can have hugely positive benefits of our child’s attainment at school.

We understand that the mornings are usually hectic, especially for young families. But, the benefits of making time for a quick breakfast are enormous.

Breakfast helps set us up for the day ahead. For kids, breakfast helps to improve concentration and energy levels. Moreover, breakfast can lead to your children feeling happier and helps them to retain information more effectively.

Overnight, our bodies essentially fast. When you wake up in the morning, it will have been several hours since you last ate. Think of it like a car. Without petrol in the tank, the car will not function properly. The body is similar; food is our fuel. For our little ones, they need to be on top form at school in order to learn effectively. Their brains need to be energised and alert.
