Bagatelle is a traditional indoor British pub game. Bagatelle is from the billiards family of indoor table games, where the object of a Bagatelle game is to get a number of balls (usually 9) past wooden Bagatelle pins on the Bagatelle board and into holes, each of which carry a score. A Bagatelle variant using fixed metal pins eventually led to the development of Pinball and Pachinko.
Bagatelle boards are currently provided by Jaques in two variations:
Jaques Hit-a-Pin Bagatelle board is handcrafted from hardwood, Mahogany and brass to the same design as supplied to Queen Victoria. The Hit-a-Pin version conforms to regulation size and correct layout and comes complete with a copy of Jaques instructions dating back over 100 years.
Jaques Trumps Bagatelle game is a new larger Victorian version of the game. The Trumps version of the game introduces card suits and a double trump feature to create a new element of rapidly changing scores.
