Did you know that today is National Badger Day!? Badgers are a quintessential part of the British countryside alongside a whole host of other woodland animals, such as foxes and squirrels.

We understand the importance of protecting the environment and our wildlife. Therefore, to help our planet we ensure that our packaging is environmentally friendly and recyclable. Not only is our packaging environmentally friendly, it is also high quality and attractive. Our toys are gift wrapped in this packaging including hand tied ribbon. The majority of our toys are wooden; they are made of 100% FSC approved wood, which means it is sustainably sourced!

Badger Facts

  • Badgers tend to live in woodland and hedges near a water source as well as in fields and meadows. However, due to urbanisation, it is becoming more common for badgers to be seen in towns and residential areas.
  • Badgers live in deep burrows with bedroom areas which are called setts.
  • Male badgers are called boars, and females are called sows.
  • Badgers are omnivores; they especially like to eat fruit and nuts. But, if given the opportunity, badgers will eat animals, such as mice, chicks and rabbits.
  • They are distinctive animals with grey/black fur and a black and white stripy head!
  • They are largely nocturnal and are, therefore, more active at night.
  • Badgers have been living in Britain for over 250,000 years.
  • In England alone there are an estimated 72,000 groups of badgers. The UK has ¼ of the global population of badgers.
