Try a Tuck Shop at Home

As Dads (with the help of the magnificent Mums!) we are also trying to keep our young minds occupied at home, it has its challenges!

Emmett and I thought we would share with you some of our kids’ Evie, Otto, Reuben and Poppy’s, favourite at home screen-free activities.

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can give the greatest pleasure, like building your own tuck shop out of a cardboard box!

You may have seen this one doing the rounds on social media lately!
It’s been a hugely popular way to teach children about money and life. The Tuck Shop is also Highly Recommended by Evie and Otto they have been playing this game at home and love it!

All you need is a cardboard box some scissors, paper, and Pens.
The aim of the activity is for your children to complete chores around the house for “money.”
Each task has a monetary value assigned to it. As an example: cleaning their room can earn them £1 to spend.
The children can then exchange their daily earnings for treats at the tuck shop, these treats can be anything from sweets and snacks to games.

We are not surprised this has been a hit with families across the country!

It has so many benefits - as well as being a great activity for improving their maths skills it also teaches children valuable life skills.

From our Family to Yours, we hope you have Fun.
Hang in there we are all in it together!
Joe, Evie (7), Otto (4),  😋
Emmett, Poppy (10) and Rueben (8) 😄
