John Jaques II’s game of Croquet took the world by storm, with matches in far flung Russian provinces to Abraham Lincoln’s Cabinet playing on the White House lawn.
Established in 1795, Jaques London is one of a handful of companies over 200 years old still in the hands of the original owner’s family.
Jaques London might not exist today if not for the miraculous survival of the original Jaques pattern book, the blueprint for every game ever made by the company, when the London factory was destroyed in the Blitz.
Competition Rounders Stick
RoundersThe History of rounders starts in Great Britain and Ireland during the reign of the Tudors. The game centres on innings where teams of up to nine on each side take alternate turns in batting and fielding. Points (or 'Rounders') are scored by the batting team by completing a circuit around the field through four bases/posts, without being put 'out'.
