The sport, which began in Victorian England as an after-dinner amusement, is going to take London by storm with 100 free tables popping up at landmarks, squares, shopping centres, offices and railway stations later this month.

Anyone can play – as long as they return the bats and balls afterwards.

The four weeks of table-tennis frenzy will be launched at St Pancras Station on Thursday, July 22, at 6.30pm with 30 tables and an ‘extreme ping pong’ display by free-running experts.
