Jaques introduced the Association croquet set, which The Croquet Association chose for the first English tournaments, and the set is virtually unchanged today.  The brass ringed Association mallets, essentially the same as those early models, are as popular today, having Rockwood heads and Hickory handles with Carbotec wind on grips.  The set of 4 matched regulation balls are double scored to aid roll and stop shots, ball markers mark their positions when tea is taken.  The Association cast competition hoops are again an unchanged design, and include a hoop drill and mallet to aid insertion of the hoops, after lawn watering, together with hoop clips to show players progress.  The 4 colour winning post, Championship corner flags, yard line pegs and Jaques original croquet rules, are all almost unchanged, but we add a copy of Anton Gill’s lovely ‘all croquet’ book ‘The Complete Guide to Croquet’.  The set comes in an attractive green stained polished box with natural rope handles, maintaining Jaques famous tradition.
