The four Oxford mallets, of this popular Oxford set, often chosen by university students, are turned by Jaques craftsman from prime English ash, have traditional octagonal handles, and are fitted with solid brass rings, to help protect the striking faces and add weight to the mallets. There are a set of four Challenge balls, in an attractive canvas carry case, ball marking pegs and a colour banded winning post showing order of play. The traditional steel Challenge hoops, erected with the aid of the hoop mallet, are marked with the hoop clips to show each players next hoop to play. Colourful court corner flags and Jaques standard croquet rules complete the set, which comes in a natural pine box of the same basic design that Jaques craftsmen were making 100 years ago.
